1. What are phishing attacks?

In Informatics, phishing does refer to a malicious operation executed by hackers, using a malicious script in hopes of getting sensitive information like, credit card info. It starts with hacking a website, then using the site’s resources to send emails with misleading messages.
A very common example is a phishing e-mail that will arrive inside your inbox, most of the time this kind of e-mail will ask you to click on a URL, which after will open a website for you. Usually by clicking on the link(s) that you will find inside the phishing e-mail, will redirect you to a mirror website, the site will be a fake version of a trusted website like a banking website.

2. Phishing attacks are hard to detect

Very often phishing attacks are difficult to be detected. When a website is corrupted, these scripts are well hidden throughout the files of the websites, that's why many website owners find out that their website is hacked and corrupted when it's too late. In this case either the website will be blacklisted by Google or most of the time, the hosting provider will suspend the subscription before Google is blacklisting the website.

3. Find and remove the Phishing files

Hackers will adapt their malware script as often as possible, that's why most of the scanners won't be able to detect the malicious scripts. Therefore, we strongly recommend you to use the Wordpress plugin called MalCare. This plugin will track all the weird behavior on your website and when a phishing activity is being detected, the owner of the website will be notified by this plugin.
